This is the story of a road trip across the United States in an old Buick. A childhood dream, just like in American movies. Rolling the miles, eating the dust, surveying the great outdoors, in search of what?No humans, that’s for sure. Make way for silence, neon-colored rain and morning mist against a backdrop of desert landscapes.On every street corner, the same drugstores, the same motels, the same signs all over the country. You’d think they’d save money on typos.Time is frozen, and while you’re sure you’re in the US, you can’t tell exactly where you’ve just been, because the aesthetic is so unchanging.The hyper-realism of the scenes depicted flirts with the dreamlike and fantastic, and the unreal colors plunge us into a cinematic atmosphere inviting us to doubt and reflect. Like nowhere else.NOWHERE BUT HERE will be the occasion for SPYK to present its work simultaneously in Marseille and Paris. The exhibition will open on October 10 with a vernissage in our gallery at 18 rue Dragon, Marseille, and will run until November 7. From October 15, a second part of the show will be presented at 19 rue de Turenne in Paris during the URBAN ART FAIR SOLO contemporary art fair, running until October 20.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
