Guillaume Grando (born 1978 in Bagnolet, France) lives and works in Biarritz.
A multidisciplinary artist, he was interested in the hip-hop movement, architecture, design, and art from a young age. At the age of 12, he began painting on various media, then founded the HV collective in 1995, exploring calligraphy, typography, graffiti, graphic design, and music production.
After graduating from the École supérieure des métiers artistiques de Montpellier in 1997, he developed an independent career marked by international collaborations.
In 2000, Guillaume Grando, under the pseudonym SupaKitch, began working in a studio and explored painting on canvas as well as resin and wood sculpture. His style evolved towards abstraction, blending organic forms, architecture, music, and calligraphy. His work evolved after a visit to the Musée Fabre in 2007, where he discovered Pierre Soulages’ outrenoir, influencing his transition to abstraction. In 2008, he moved to New York, where his work incorporated a variety of influences, particularly Japanese. He received a lot of attention and exhibited in New York, Miami, Denver, Mexico City, Paris, Taipei, Beijing, and Shenzhen. It was also during this period that he began to frequent Biarritz, drawn to the ocean and surfing. In 2011, his encounter with Paul Lefèvre (Son of Cobra) introduced him to the use of resin, a material that would become central to his work. Returning to Paris in 2012, he briefly explored tattooing, marking a return to drawing and figuration, while continuing to be invited to the United States and Mexico. In 2016, he settled permanently in Biarritz and focused his research on resin and pigments, exploring randomness, brilliance, reflection, and depth.
